Clyde Park Vineyard was established in 1979 when the varieties of Chardonnay and Minot Nair were planted on the property. The site consists of undulating north easterly slopes. The soil varies from silt clay to sandy loam with basalt over a limestone base. Plantings on our north easterly slope provide exposure to sunlight, whilst the river flat area offers warmth and wind protection. Viticulturally the site produces premium fruit of low yields providing balanced wines of great purity, complexity and finesse. We have owned Clyde Park for more than 15 years and have concentrated on developing premium quality cool climate wines, which today are sold across Australia and recently we have begun to export. Food Suggestions All red meats, game, huge with pasta and wood fired pizza. Focused and healthy defined, the nose of this wine shows peach and citrus characters, joined by intricate aromas of oatmeal nougat and well integrated oak. James Halliday: More complex, but also more elegant, then its varietal sibling, with a seamless flow of stone fruit, oak and gently citrussy acidity streaming across the palate. Tasting Notes Focused and healthy defined, the nose shows peach and citrus characters, joined by complex aromas of oatmeal nougat and healthy integrated oak. This wine is powerful, complex with savory meats and dismal fruits on the nose, concentrated herb, smoky oak and undergrowth trail through to the fruit density, mid palate flesh and lengthy structural tannin. The palate is rounder, with sweet red fruits on a bed of spice and forest floor. Tasting Notes Block F, planted in 1989, is a trivial 0.7ha block planted on the higher slopes of the valley side, and has a gentle north facing slope. This wine is from a range of aspects and slopes within the Clyde Park vineyar
